Snap2Guess Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 13, 2026
Snap2Guess is provided by 3FolkLabs ("Snap2Guess," "3FolkLabs," "we," "us," or "our"). 3FolkLabs is the developer name used for our app store listings. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, protect, retain, and delete information when you use the Snap2Guess mobile app, Snap2Guess websites including snap2guess.app, Snap2G.com, and Snap2G.app, related backend services, and other Snap2Guess surfaces that link to this policy.
This policy applies to the app and related services as available when this version is published. If a support system, SDK, or product feature materially changes the data we collect, use, or share, we will update this policy before or when that change is released. If another 3FolkLabs-operated domain redirects to this policy, this policy applies only to the Snap2Guess service unless that page says otherwise.
Short Version
- Snap2Guess is a photo puzzle game. If you create a Snap, we collect the photos you choose or capture, the puzzle title, answer, difficulty, visibility, and related publishing metadata.
- We request camera and photo access only when you choose to take or select a photo for a puzzle or profile image. We do not take photos in the background, record video, record audio, use face recognition, or create biometric templates.
- Profiles, public Snaps, comments, follows, reposts, votes, solve rankings, and leaderboards are social features and may be visible to other users.
- We use Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and edge functions. We use Google Gemini API for puzzle safety review, solvability checks, hints, and metadata. We use RevenueCat for subscriptions and in-app purchases. We use AppLovin MAX for ads and rewarded ads when enabled.
- We do not sell your personal information for money. Advertising SDKs may process device, app, ad interaction, and advertising identifier data to deliver, measure, and improve ads. In some places, that may be considered "sharing" for targeted advertising.
- You can revoke camera or photo permissions in your device settings. You can delete your account in the app or on the web at https://snap2guess.app/account-deletion. You can also contact [email protected] for access, correction, deletion, account deletion help, or other privacy requests.
Information We Collect
Account And Profile Information
When you create or use an account, we collect and store information needed to run your account, including:
- email address;
- password authentication handled by Supabase Auth. We do not store your plaintext password;
- account ID, session state, email verification state, and authentication metadata;
- handle, display name, avatar image URL, bio, profile level, XP, streaks, badges, follower counts, following counts, and subscription tier;
- settings or preferences stored by the app, such as onboarding completion and theme preference.
The app stores your Supabase session locally on your device so you can stay signed in.
Photos, Camera, And Puzzle Content
Snap2Guess asks for camera and photo library access so you can create puzzle posts and profile images.
We collect only the images you choose to capture, select, crop, upload, or publish through Snap2Guess. For puzzle posts, this can include:
- selected or captured puzzle photos;
- image metadata needed for display and processing, such as dimensions, orientation, storage path, upload status, processing status, and image count;
- puzzle title, answer text, normalized answer, difficulty, publish quality, visibility, and publishing status;
- AI moderation, solvability, hint, category, and tag metadata generated for the puzzle.
For profile images, we collect the image you select and crop, then upload it to the avatar storage bucket.
We do not:
- access your camera or photo library unless you start a photo capture, picker, or profile image flow;
- access photos in the background;
- record video or audio through camera permission;
- scan your full photo library for unrelated purposes;
- use face recognition, face geometry, or biometric identification.
If you deny camera access, you can still use parts of the app that do not require taking a photo. If you deny photo library access, features that require selecting existing photos may not work until permission is granted.
Gameplay And Social Activity
We collect gameplay, ranking, and social activity needed to provide the game, including:
- puzzle attempts, guesses, whether an answer was correct, answer match percentage, elapsed time, hints used, score, solve count, solve history, and leaderboard position;
- XP events, badges, streaks, levels, coins, Super Likes, daily limits, account balances, reward grants, and currency ledger entries;
- follows, reposts, saves, votes, Super Likes, shares, comment state, and related counts;
- comments, replies, likes on comments, mentions, and in-app notifications;
- reports you submit about content or profiles, including the reported content, reason, reporter account, review status, and moderation notes where applicable;
- view and dwell-time state for puzzle cards when needed for gameplay, ranking, rewards, or feed quality.
Some gameplay and social activity is intentionally visible to other users. For example, public profiles, public puzzle content, public comments, follows, reposts, votes, badges, leaderboards, and solve-related ranking information may be shown in the app.
Purchases, Subscriptions, Ads, And Rewards
Snap2Guess includes subscriptions, coin packs, ads, and rewarded ads. Depending on what is enabled and what you use, we may collect:
- RevenueCat customer identifiers, entitlement identifiers, active entitlements, product identifiers, subscription status, expiration dates, purchase restoration state, and purchase payloads needed to keep your subscription or coin balance accurate;
- app store purchase records that RevenueCat or the app stores make available to us. We do not receive or store your full payment card number;
- ad slot eligibility, impressions, clicks, dismissals, no-fill events, rewarded ad intents, rewarded ad callback IDs, ad unit IDs, reward amount, reward kind, signature verification state, and reward settlement metadata;
- ad interaction metadata such as placement, offer type, nonce, session identifier, and related reward context.
AppLovin MAX and its advertising partners may collect device, app, advertising identifier, IP address, country, locale, connection, ad interaction, and similar data to deliver, measure, prevent fraud in, and improve ads. Your device and platform settings may let you limit ad tracking, reset your advertising ID, or make other advertising privacy choices.
Analytics, Diagnostics, And Device Information
We collect product analytics and operational logs to understand app health, improve the product, debug issues, prevent abuse, and rank content. This may include:
- session identifier generated by the app;
- user ID when you are signed in;
- screen names, event names, puzzle IDs, feed event types, and event metadata;
- feed impressions, skips, attempts, solves, fails, hints, votes, shares, reposts, follows, ad interactions, and other app interactions;
- website page views, referral sources, outbound link clicks, beta signup events, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate region collected through our self-hosted Plausible Analytics instance. Plausible is configured without cookies and we do not send email addresses, account IDs, or other direct identifiers in website analytics events;
- request metadata, IP address, timestamps, device operating system, app version, runtime version, network or error details, and similar technical information generated by our app, Supabase, Expo, RevenueCat, AppLovin, Google, or other service providers.
We do not request GPS, precise location, contacts, phonebook, SMS, call log, microphone, health, or calendar permissions. Service providers may infer a rough region from IP address for security, fraud prevention, analytics, ads, or service operation.
Information From Service Providers
We may receive information from service providers that help operate Snap2Guess, including Supabase, Expo, RevenueCat, AppLovin, Google, Apple, and Google Play. For example, a purchase provider may tell us whether a subscription is active, an ad provider may tell us that a rewarded ad was completed, or an infrastructure provider may generate logs needed to run the service.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, and maintain your account;
- provide the Snap2Guess game, feed, profile, puzzle, comment, notification, leaderboard, reward, and monetization features;
- let you capture, select, upload, optimize, review, publish, edit, and delete puzzle images and profile images;
- check puzzle content for safety, answer leakage, solvability, quality, hints, categories, and tags;
- prevent cheating, spam, fraud, abuse, policy violations, unauthorized access, and unsafe content;
- process reports and moderation actions;
- calculate scores, attempts, XP, badges, streaks, ranks, rewards, balances, limits, and entitlements;
- provide subscriptions, in-app purchases, purchase restoration, ad delivery, rewarded ads, and server-verified rewards;
- personalize or rank feeds, recommendations, and app experiences;
- measure app usage, diagnose errors, improve performance, and plan product improvements;
- communicate with you about your account, support requests, policy changes, security issues, and service updates;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms and policies, and protect the rights, safety, and property of users, Snap2Guess, 3FolkLabs, and others.
We do not use your puzzle photos, profile photos, comments, or other user-generated content to train our own machine learning models. We may send puzzle images, titles, answers, and related puzzle metadata to Google Gemini API so that Google can process them on our behalf for moderation, solvability, hints, categories, and tags. We do not intentionally opt in to share Snap2Guess user API logs or datasets for third-party model training without updating this policy and, where required, obtaining consent.
Legal Bases For Processing
If you are in a place where a legal basis is required for processing personal information, we rely on the following bases as applicable:
- Contract: to create and maintain your account, provide the app, process purchases, maintain entitlements, run gameplay, and deliver features you request.
- Consent: where you grant camera, photo library, app tracking, personalized advertising, marketing, or other optional permissions or consents.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the app, prevent abuse, moderate content, analyze product performance, improve features, operate analytics, enforce rules, and protect users and our services.
- Legal obligations: to comply with tax, accounting, consumer protection, app store, law enforcement, safety, and other legal requirements.
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw consent where applicable, but withdrawing consent may limit features that depend on that data.
How Information Is Shared
With Other Users
Snap2Guess is a social game. Other users may see information that is part of public or social features, such as:
- your handle, display name, avatar, bio, level, badges, follower/following counts, and subscription tier display where used;
- public puzzle photos, title, creator profile, difficulty, categories, tags, hints where available, counts, comments, and related engagement;
- follows, reposts, votes, comments, badges, leaderboards, ranks, and solve-related statistics;
- your content if another user shares a Snap or profile link outside the app.
Puzzle answers are stored so the game can validate solves. We design feed and detail payloads not to reveal the answer before a valid solve or creator/admin access, but the answer may be shown after a solve, to the creator, or where needed for moderation and support.
With Service Providers
We share information with vendors that help us provide Snap2Guess. These providers process information according to their own terms, privacy policies, and our configuration or instructions where applicable.
Current service providers include:
- Supabase: authentication, database, row-level security, storage, edge functions, cron-backed jobs, and operational infrastructure.
- Google Gemini API / Google AI services: AI-assisted puzzle moderation, image understanding, solvability checks, hints, categories, and metadata.
- Expo and EAS: app builds, updates, project infrastructure, and related technical services.
- RevenueCat: subscription and in-app purchase entitlement management.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and store-level account controls.
- AppLovin MAX and advertising partners: ad delivery, mediation, rewarded ads, ad measurement, fraud prevention, and ad privacy choices.
- Plausible Analytics, self-hosted by 3FolkLabs: cookie-free website analytics for page views, referral sources, device/browser summaries, outbound links, and beta signup conversion events.
We may add or replace service providers as the product evolves. When a provider materially changes how user information is collected, used, or shared, we will update this policy as appropriate.
For Legal, Safety, And Business Reasons
We may access, preserve, use, or disclose information when we believe it is reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, court order, subpoena, or government request;
- investigate, prevent, or respond to fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents, harmful content, or policy violations;
- enforce our terms, policies, agreements, and rights;
- protect the safety, rights, property, or security of users, the public, Snap2Guess, 3FolkLabs, or others;
- complete a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to legally appropriate protections.
We may share aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.
Advertising And Tracking Choices
Snap2Guess may show ads to free users, reduced ads to some paid users, and no forced feed network ads to Pro users, depending on the active product configuration. Rewarded ads may be offered as an optional way to receive in-app rewards.
Your choices include:
- using device settings to limit ad tracking, reset your advertising ID, or adjust app tracking permissions where available;
- using any privacy controls provided by AppLovin, Apple, Google, or other ad partners;
- declining optional rewarded ad offers;
- choosing a paid tier if available and appropriate for you;
- contacting us if you want to exercise privacy rights that apply to targeted advertising or sale/share opt-outs in your region.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may allow advertising partners to process device, app, ad interaction, and advertising identifier data for ad delivery and measurement. Depending on your jurisdiction, this may be considered targeted advertising or sharing. Where law requires consent for personalized ads or similar tracking, we will collect that consent before enabling those uses.
Data Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information, including:
- HTTPS/TLS for network transport where supported by our providers;
- Supabase Auth for authentication and session management;
- Supabase Row Level Security policies and grants to limit database access;
- server-side edge functions for sensitive writes, business logic, rewards, purchases, moderation, and protected data paths;
- server-only handling of service role keys, webhook secrets, cron secrets, and AI provider keys;
- storage access controls for puzzle images and avatar uploads;
- logging and monitoring intended to detect operational problems and abuse.
No internet service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for using current device security features.
Data Retention And Deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide Snap2Guess, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
You can delete your account in the app from Profile -> Settings & Privacy -> Delete account or on the web at https://snap2guess.app/account-deletion. The web page lets you sign in with your handle or email and delete your account without reinstalling the app. If you cannot sign in, you can request help by emailing [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a manual request. Self-service deletion normally starts immediately after confirmation, and we generally aim to complete verified manual deletion requests within 30 days unless a legal, security, fraud-prevention, app store, payment, or technical reason requires more time.
Our current retention approach is:
- Account and profile information is retained while your account is active and then deleted or anonymized after account deletion, except where we need to keep limited information for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting, or dispute purposes.
- Public Snaps, puzzle photos, puzzle answers, comments, and related social activity are retained while they remain published, pending review, or otherwise needed to operate the game. If you delete content or your account is deleted, we delete or anonymize associated personal data where required and technically feasible, subject to backups and legitimate retention needs.
- Reports, moderation decisions, abuse signals, reward records, ledger entries, purchase and subscription records, and security logs may be retained longer where needed for safety, fraud prevention, financial reconciliation, tax, legal compliance, chargebacks, or dispute handling.
- Product analytics and operational logs are retained only as long as needed for analytics, product improvement, debugging, security, and compliance, then deleted, anonymized, or aggregated.
- Backups and provider logs may persist for a limited period after deletion until they are overwritten or expire under our provider retention schedules.
Deleting your account may permanently remove access to your profile, Snaps, comments, solves, rewards, purchases tied to the app account, and other app data. App store purchase records may remain with Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or other payment providers according to their policies. Deleting your Snap2Guess account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription; subscriptions must be canceled through the store account that billed you.
Your Rights And Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- access personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete information or delete your account;
- receive a portable copy of certain information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or sharing where those rights apply;
- appeal a privacy request decision where applicable.
You can update some information directly in the app, such as your profile handle, display name, avatar, and bio. You can control camera and photo library permissions through your device settings. You can manage purchases and subscriptions through Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat-powered purchase flows, or the app store account used to buy them.
To exercise privacy rights, contact [email protected]. We will respond as required by applicable law and may ask for information needed to verify your identity and protect your account.
International Processing
Snap2Guess and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States, the European Economic Area, and other countries where our providers operate. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from your local laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Children
Snap2Guess is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If local law requires a higher minimum age for consent to online services, you may not use Snap2Guess unless you meet that age requirement or have appropriate parent or guardian consent.
If you believe a child has provided us personal information without the required consent, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Third-Party Links And Services
Snap2Guess may link to third-party websites, app stores, support pages, ad choices, provider policies, or shared Snap/profile links. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services that we do not control. Review their policies before providing information to them.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Snap2Guess changes or as legal, operational, or store requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice in a reasonable way, such as in the app, on our website, through app store release notes, or by email when appropriate.
